Workshop

  • Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 extension kit: 6060 kit ($349) or 1010 kit ($549)
    An extension kit is a set of longer rails, frame parts and hardware that makes an existing CNC machine bigger. Instead of buying a whole new machine, the studio's current CNC (about 16 × 12 in. of cutting area) gets rebuilt with longer parts, so it can carve much larger pieces. The 6060 kit grows it to about 24 × 24 in.; the 1010 kit to about 39 × 40 in., big enough for signs, panels and furniture parts.
  • Genmitsu rotary module kit for the PROVerXL 4030 V1
    A rotary module is a motorized chuck that holds a piece of wood and turns it while the CNC carves, so the studio can make round and cylindrical pieces like handles, spindles, pens and carvings that wrap all the way around.
  • Part-position probe for the CNC (XYZ edge finder)
    A part-position probe lets the CNC find the exact edges, corners and top of a piece of wood on its own, so every carving starts in the right spot without measuring by hand.
  • Laser engraver: Genmitsu CFL55 5.5W laser module with air assist ($219.99)
    A laser module mounts on the studio's existing CNC machines (it fits both the 4040-PRO and the PROVerXL 4030) and burns fine detail, lettering and pictures into wood, leather and other materials, which is ideal for personalized gifts, signs and product markings.
  • Genmitsu Φ52mm dust shoe cover cleaner ($29.99)
    A dust shoe is a brush-rimmed hood that fits around the cutting bit and connects to a vacuum, so sawdust is pulled away as the machine carves instead of settling over the shop. It keeps the air cleaner, the cut line visible, and the finished work free of dust.
